Other Interesting Covers of Norfolk Island
On 1st of August a quantity of souvenir covers commemorating Stampex 86 were flown from Norfolk Island to Adelaide via Sydney by a Super Kinger aircraft of Norfolk Airlines (since defunct). However this airline did not fly into Sydney, its routes being Norfolk Island -Lord Howe Island -Brisbane; and Norfolk Island -Brisbane. It must therefore have been tranferred from Brisbane to Sydney and Adelaide by conventional means. A Stampex 86 logo is also featured. These covers carry two definitives making up a 33c rate. They also carry a "WCS" cachet on the reverse side.
