As far as is known, this species occurs only in the vicinity of Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands. They swim in schools and seem to prefer the area above the reef rather than places within the reef itself. They grow to a length of 15 centimetres.

1/3 Dreamfish(Kyphosidae)

Frequently encounted by skin-divers and caught by local fishmen as it is food fish much sought after by many islanders. The fish may cause vivid dreams in those who are prepared to eat it, so those that are scared of nightmares will do so only at breakfeast.

2/3 Ophie(Carangidae)

Also known as the Silver Trevally, this silvery fish with a delicious flavour is found off reefs and beaches. It is usually found in schools and varies in size from 30 to 90cm and weighs as much as 4½ Kg

Issue 1964 Island Views

These two stamps were issued on 24 February 1964, the 5d a view over looking Kingston, the 8d Kingston, which was founded by Superintendent P.G. King at Norfolk Island in 1788 was the second British settement in the South Pacific(see earlier pages). At first it was called Sydney, the name was later changed to Kings Town and in due course became Kingston. It is still the island`s capital but exists as the administrative centre only.
