1938- First Flight Empire Air Mail Service

27 July- 7 September 1938. First Flight EAMS Service to Norfolk Island at the 1½d rate. Mail left London on the flying boat G-ADUY "Capella",under the command of E.H.Atwood, Command passed to Capt.P.W.Lynch-Blosse at Singpore through to Darwin,which was reached on 4 August 1938. Sydney was reached on 6 August. Mail for Norfolk Island was forwarded by sea from Sydney, arriving at Norfolk island on the 7 September 1938

15 October 1947. Return Qantas First Flight.

Again a number of covers were carried including 400 official Qantas covers,carrying a differently worded vignette, also in brown /lime green.Many of the official Qantas covers, which are dated 14 Oct. 47, carry the signature of Capt. Ambrose.

9 February 1977.East -West Airlines.

East-West Airlines proving flight between Sydney-Norfolk Island and return. 125 individually numbered covers carried in each direction. Covers from Norfolk island postmarked 10 Feb. 77, Sydney Airport arrival datestamp, same day, 18c rate. All covers carry a printed panel featuring a map showing the new route, with the addition of two handstruck cachets:-First East-West/ Overseas Air route, two lines in red, and the one above Proving Flight in violet
